So far this year, approximately 400 students throughout the USA and at international schools overseas have taken the United States Geography Challenge Qualifying Exam. Until February 8, no one had received a perfect score on any version of the Qualifying Exam. But on February 9 at our Northern Illinois qualifying site, Conrad Oberhaus of Daniel Wright Junior High School in Lincolnshire, IL became the first student in the history of the United States Geography Challenge to score a perfect 100! What is even more noteworthy is that while the overwhelming majority of students who have taken the US Geography Challenge Qualifying Exam are high school students, Conrad is a 7th grader! He is to be commended for a great accomplishment, and will forever hold a place in the history of the US Geography Challenge as the first student to reach perfection. Congratulations, Conrad, from the staff of the US Geography Challenge!
