So far in the 2014-15 academic year, the National Qualifying Exam of the US Geography Olympiad has been administered at 15 sites around the USA with many more to follow in the weeks to come. The highest score to date has been a 96 from Abhinav Kurada of the Advanced Math and Science Academy in Marlborough, MA – the two-time defending Junior Varsity National Champion who is competing in the Varsity division this year. Compared with last year’s C Set Exam (the version which has been offered at all sites so far this year), the average scores are up by about 10-15 points, although there have been fewer scores in the 90’s overall. Our B Set Exam debuts on December 13 at the Northern Illinois site of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. National Qualifying Quiz Tournament sites will then begin in January. Good luck throughout in qualifying throughout the school year for our 2015 National Championships!
