The US Geography Olympiad and the International Geography Bee are pleased to announce that through the end of December 2017, 96 Varsity and 116 JV students have taken the C Set National Qualifying Exam. As this year, we are calculating the National Median Scores earlier to give everyone more lead time to prepare to attend the National Championships, we can now announce that the official C Set National Median Scores are 67 for Varsity and 54 for Junior Varsity. Anyone who has scored or who scores higher than these scores on the Exam qualifies for the USGO and IGB 2018 National Championships in their age division. Students whose scores were in the top 50% of scores at their Exam site still qualify too, even if they scored less than the National Median Scores. We have also added access to spreadsheets showing all scores by Set (click on the tabs at the bottom of the page for the other age division) on the Results page here.
Also, remember that any student who scores 75 or higher on any version of the National Qualifying Exam qualifies for the 2018 International Geography Bee World Championships in Berlin, Germany on July 11-17! Details, including a list of already registered students and how to register, can be found on the IGB website here.
