The United States Geography Olympiad is delighted to report that the first two perfect scores have been achieved on the National Qualifying Exam for the 2014-2015 school year! Congratulations to James Mullen of Monta Vista High School in Cupertino (last year’s International Geography Olympiad World Champion) and to John Phipps of Middlesex Middle School in Darien, CT. James is a Varsity student, while John is competing this year in the Junior Varsity Division – both scores were attained on the B Set version of the Exam. James scored his 100 at the Northern California Winter History Bee and Bowl on Sunday, January 25 while John scored his at the Long Island Winter History Bee and Bowl on Saturday, January 31.
